2007 Think Tank Session

Tuesday November 20th, 2007

12:00 noon - 5:00pm Immediately following regular meeting

We will discuss the following topics in an organized productive format:

Professional Development

Participation in AAAFFA

Internal/External Mentorship

The purpose of a think tank will be for all past and present African American members of the Austin Fire Department to come together and discuss important issues that affect African American Firefighters and the African American community in a facilitated professional manner. We will engage in healthy communication to identify and discuss past, present, & possible future concerns. We will also strive to have a positive impact on each other and the community, generate ideas for improvement, and encouraged one another to achieve excellence in our careers.

We will have a detailed agenda with time allotted for each topic and an established format for each topic. We will have the IABPFF South Central Region Director James Hill to facilitate and keep us on track and a time keeper to help us stay on time.

Chief Adame will be there as well for a short time to answer questions and share information.

This will be an event you don't want to miss if you are interested in professional development, mentorship, or organizational involvement. Heavy refreshments will be available. See you there!
